Supporting 60% of Iowa Hospitals: How FG Strengthens Connectivity Across the State

FG has a long history of helping Iowa hospitals reduce costs, strengthen networks, and access critical federal funding through the Healthcare Connect Fund (HCF). Iowa-based and deeply rooted in the state’s broadband landscape, we are proud to live by the principle of Iowans helping Iowans.

Our partnership with the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) spans more than 10 years, ensuring the state’s backbone remains strong for healthcare. Today, 60% of Iowa hospitals rely on ICN for performance and resilience, supported by FG’s operational expertise. As the contracted HCF filer for the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA), FG also supports 50% of Iowa hospitals with compliance and funding management. Beyond hospitals, our experience includes directing broadband investments with the State Broadband Office—aligning resources to expand access statewide.

The results are proven: over $550 million in client savings, thousands of supported sites, and 100% client retention. But the real impact is seen in client stories. Dr. David Hall, CIO of OSF HealthCare, shared: “I’ve never felt that FG is a different company. I’ve always felt like they were part of us…they are one of us. When we have problems, they’ve been there the whole time. They lose sleep with us, and there is no better partner.”

Guided by our Client First Promise—transparent collaboration, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement—FG remains committed to Iowa hospitals and the communities they serve. Together, we continue to network better.
